I'm going to relocate the ground cable from the passenger head to the driver's head. I'm just going to get the same size cable, only longer, and run it to the frame rail. I'm going to install a weld on nut to attach the cable to the frame.

There are many places to get a longer cable made or you can just buy one. I haven't gotten one yet because I'm not sure on the length I need. I'll know that after I get the engine back in.

I really need some help with "where to start" with cleaning out my engine bay. Hoping to get this accomplished by show time.

For those of you who tackled this where did you start? I don't think I'll ever get to the level of some of you guys but what are the major things to do:move to make the best appearance?

Also, what pieces have people painted? Mechanically inclined but a little nervous about ripping whole engine apart..

Hey Bud, welcome to the club

A lot of stuff you can get done on the weekend without having your car down.

This should keep you busy for a while, LOL

Relocate coils
Get rid of engine cover
Redo fuel rails
Relocate EVAC sensor
Relocate negative battery cable
Do some nice valve covers
Reroute injector harness to the back of engine
Redo some of the factory plastic wire looms with braided

BTW, all this stuff is in the thread in a DIY form. You'll just need to take the time to go through it.

I have the cable I had made in the garage. I just need to pull it out to measure it. It longer then the factory cable. There's picture in the thread of were I mounted it. I think I paid $10 including shipping.

Thanks! Are you saying the diy for the things you mentioned are in this thread or in the diy section in seperate thread?

Thanks! I'll have to spend some time. Some of it looked pretty intense to do. My engine cover is gone and now I'm looking at the engine and its a bit overwhelming and just wasn't sure where to "start"

Thanks for reply!

Yes its in this thread. Thats why the moderators made it a sticky. So that folks could use it a reference. Feel free to ask any question as we all start somewhere. There's also a bunch of great folks on here that will help you out.

But my first recommendation is to go through this thread as a lot of what your looking to do has been documented.

Oh BTW, we all love pictures around here so the only prerequisite is that you post pics, LOL! I'm laughing but I'm not kidding. This is pretty popular around here if we dont see pics.

Here a question for everybody. Any feedback would be great!!! I get PMs with this same question a lot.

Let’s say you’re starting off in your quest to clean up things. What would be some of the first things you do if you had an initial budget of say $300”?

Again, any feedback would be greatly appreciated as this would help a bunch
