Glad I bought a 2LT!
Well gentlemen, (ladies)
This news is all good as far as I can see. I just got 8 more HP to brag about! I am a former owner of a 1975 V8 Camaro and now 2010 2LT V6 I can give you my experienced opinion. My 75 was my first Camaro love affair and it will certainly always have a place in my heart as my first Camaro. The new camaro basically gives me ALL the power and driving pleasure that my 75 gave me and much, much more. Even though my highly modded 75 had more torque, it was nothing without control as the 2010 simply out performs the second gen Camaro in almost every way. Power is nothing without control and this is often simply not spoken about. A great car has great balance and my new V6 2010 2LT Camaro is far superior than my old one. What was important to me in the 2010 includes alot of power, but safety and security have alot to do with how much I can drive my car. My old Camaro was strictly a weekend car and my new 2010 is driven every day...with permagrin every time! If I drive it reasonably, it returns fantastic mileage. When I need power I open her up and enjoy my 6 speed manual far more than my old Muncie M21 4 speed. It really is nice to cruise down the highway at 100 Kms/hr (our highway speed limit up here in Canada) and rev a mere 1800 RPMs.. the car gets 6.0L/100 and THAT is better than a cute-ute! I also must point out that this 5th gen is almost a year old now and the hot-rodding has only just begun! I have to remind you V8 meatheads that this 5th gen's V6 is MORE powerful than MOST of the OEM V8's in all the previous generations! Someone recently wrote here that it's like this V6 is comparable to the original small block V8's and the current aluminium V8 is more comparable to the classic big block. Feels about right to me... I plan on putting headders on my V6 2010 2LT. I did so in my 75 and lemme tell you, that 350 really opened up when it was breathing better. I saw a header mod in a 2010 V6 put out an extra 33 HP and 30+ pound/ft of torque as well! WOW! That with a possible turbo and Cat-back exhaust and that could really deliver true V8 style punch! So let's all stop whining. Actually NOT! It's the reason that we BLOG now ain't it? So lets the dialog continue! This car is fantastic any way you consider it...now if they could only make my V6 SOUND like my old V8... I guess you can't have everything eh? Thanks for reading, to those that did! The way I read the article my 2010 V6 just gained 8 HP. The engine didn’t change in 2011. It was just recertified for the 312 HP rating so I’m pumped. I’m personally glad that Synergy Green had enough positive feedback that it’s being offered again in 2011 and on my big brother, the SS. For us greenies out there it just means, “the more the merrier.”

You'll need a new windshield at the least I do believe.

Another Chevrolet SNAFU?
I just closed on a Synergy and will take delivery tomorrow morning.
Very disappointing to read that Synergy Green will not be unique as it will be an option for 2011 all models. :bangdesk: Chevrolet could easily change the paint formulation more closely to the rallye green metallic - paint code 79 offered on the 69 Z28's Chevrolet has pulled this SNAFU before to the hurt of loyal dedicated customers who thought they purchased something unique and distinctive. Grand Sport Corvettes are the same - no unique VIN series to set it apart from the standard coupe. 2003 / 2004 SSR buyers and dealers were hit hard when Chevrolet decided to make the LS2 the standard for the 2005 / 2006 models. A necessary improvement - yes! It is not the same with the Synergy Green Metallic color code. The production of the color should end on 10 April 2010 with the final production orders for the Synergy Edition models. "Whatever is spoken or written that goes unchallenged is therefore accepted" Synergy owners should write John Fitzpatrick at Chevrolet and share their disgust with this decision. the Synergy Last edited by Nomad56; 04-10-2010 at 08:19 AM. |

Nomad56,
may I ask, how much was your msrp on your synergy edition? what was final negotiated price on the car? what kind of incentivized financing did they offer, if any? did you end up getting an independent finance source? what was your overall dealership expereience like? thanks for any advice you want to share with a fellow camaro enthusiast. I am going to the dealership today to begin the barganing proces for my very own 2010 synergy edition. the one i am looking at is a $29, 525 MSRP. it's got 20inch wheels/tires, sunroof, spoiler, boston acoustics upgrade, connectivity pkg, extra tire...thanks again and looking forward to any bargaining tips from Y'all...
