Camaro Suspension durability testing on the DAMPER DESTROYER!
Happen to walk out into the shop the other last night, saw our durability rig running, which we deemed the moniker "Damper Destroyer" or "Double D" for short.
Then I realized that we never got to show our Camaro suspension on the DD. How could we forget! This machine which we engineered and manufactured in-house, is fully variable with an electric motor and a series of strategically designed eccentric pulleys and mounting beds, to accommodate any variety of suspensions. Outfitting it with advanced data acquisition instrumentation is in Double D's near future. Currently we use a second machine, the Roehrig Engineering Damper dyno, for validation of our damper curves with force/velocity plots. We made a special mount to replicate high-load, off axis, high-stress scenario testing. And we are testing it CONSTANTLY at this worst case scenario. Man, engineers get to work on COOL things! Its short, enjoy! -Blair |
