What About the Constraint on V8 Buyers?
No one seems to be taking into account the impact the dealer stock V6 build is having on the higher percentage V8 buyers. Granted virtually all cars being built besides the, say 3,000, dealer stock cars are V8s, meaning initially they build 3,000 dealer cars and 3,000 V8s.
But without the dealer stock cars they would build the 6,000 at....what's fair....the ratio of V6 to V8 pre-orders, 20% to 80%, or 1,200 V6s and 4,800 V8s. So, the V6s are slighted 1,200 cars, but the V8s get 1,800 less pre-order cars. Maybe little consolation for the 1,200 V6 buyers, but also disappointing to those 1,800 V8 buyers. And if you raise the number of dealer stock cars above 3,000, which it most likely is, it becomes even more negative for the V8 buyers. This is certainly not intended to rile the SS buyers, but calm the V6 buyers feeling slighted. We're both being affected and we all need to be patient. It's only about a one month delay for any of us.

Rod, you bring up a good point here. However, I think at the end of the day all the people who pre-ordered are going to get their cars a lot sooner than GM has announced officially (except of course those people who think they should get theirs next Monday).
We definitely need to all stay patient just a little bit longer. Trust me, we will all be rewarded for it in the end. And please people, don't turn this thread into a "let's bitch about what GM is building" or a "why can't I get my car Monday" thread. |

i think they were all geared up for a 50/50 split on the production lines.... with parts and such...
when it came in that the demand was 80/20.....instead of changing the product lines.... they decided to do add a bunch of showroon v6's to fill the gap.... so it was going to be 50/50 either way |

Oh boy, I can hear it now.
Just wait till that first report comes in of someone picking up their V8 or V6 car...imagine how that is going to LIGHT UP this board. Whoever posts first ought to get a free tshirt or bragging rights in their signature!! |
