sure thing.

it would be wash --> rinse --> iron cut ---> rinse --> autoscrub or clay --> compound/polish - last step.

Phil- I'd love to get your input on this. I've heard so many different explanations from well known detailers.

Seems that half of them do their iron decon before claying, and half do it after. What's your rationale for doing it before? Do you think it matters?

I normally do it after, just because I feel that it might help to pull out any iron that the clay might have "loosened." I don't know if there is any sort of credence to that, but that's just how it seems in my head.

I do it before the clay/autoscrub to pull as much out of the paint to reduce "aggressive" claying.

sure thing.

you can use the Sonax Polymer Net Shield on the clear film we have found it to work great on film.

Up keep it with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detail Spray

Phil, I'm looking to upgrade to Menzerna polishes for my yearly big detail in September and I want to try to polish the paint to its highest level of clarity I've ever accomplished.

I have very minor swirls over the course of the year since my last polish, but my main issue with my paint is water spot etching on the horizontal surfaces, in particular my roof. They're not severe, but their presence has urged me to decide on SI1500 for my first step with a LC flat orange pad.

My concern is this: to perfect the paint, I want to follow that up w/ SF4500 on a black pad, but is that setup too fine to remove any haze leftover from my first step? And, from your experience, is Camaro clear too hard for SF4500?

My car is black, and ATM I don't have any photos... :(

The swirls on my car are real mild, they're not really the issue. The main reason I want to hit the paint with a medium setup is because of the water spots. I know the spots are very old but I'm not sure if they're derived from manmade water sources or if they're just from a couple years worth of South Fla. rain (my car sits outside), because the last time I polished I just used a fine polish on a white pad so it probably wasn't enough to knock them out. If the spots are derived from manmade water, then they're probably very old because I have never let manmade water sources dry on my car in direct sunlight (or any time before 6:00-7:00 p.m., for that matter) for a loooooong, long time.
