Looks like it was a different car lined up and the next cut-away shot was him lined up for his first run.

Different cars. Looked like 2 Red cars, a white one and an SIM?

Well it's safe to say that Chevrolet will not be using this in their marketing campaign. This was a terrible video and clearly this guy has no driving experience.

What would the car do with a set of slicks and a pro driver?????? With the much power spinning the tires should be as simple as letting out the clutch.

I think this is a GM sneaky, subversive video, created to give the Mustang guys hope that they can beat it, when in fact....it will run mid to high 11s with the right driver. But, some are right...why did they turn one loose to such a poorly qualified test venue when Super Chevy, Camaro Now, or EVEN Motor Trend would have been much more qualified to drive such an awesome car... in my opinion.

I'd rather see a novice take it on a track with some curves... but, I can see why they really wouldn't want that...

I ran a 14.85 @ 94.75 in a bone stock LS A6 w/20's... for another $35,000, I would expect a little more. You can buy a CTS-V for that price and drop another second off the 1/4 mile.

And it shouldn't matter if he had slicks or not - The ZL-1 has such a fancy "launch control" that doesn't appear to make a ton of difference. Or should it just be called "traction control", and drop the RPM's when the tires break loose?

The trap speeds published by MT and C&D at 117 and 119 indicate high 11's all day long... no worries.

The best part of this video was on the rack underneath view...

so now with the information we have and adding up all the trap speeds, we get an average of roughly 116mph (116.25). This indicates the average "best" ET would be maybe 12.4

Trap speeds indicate what kind of power the car is making. There are a lot of other factors that determine whether or not that power can be effectively managed to get a good ET. In this case, while that car is definitely capable of getting a better time, it didn't in the hands of this driver.

Just like history has shown with other high-horsepower factory cars, including the GT500 and Z06, the times are going to be all over the place. Get used to it. Like others have pointed out, there are likely to be a bunch of people buying the ZL1 that have never driven a real high-performance vehicle in their life.
