The only form of racing that is cheap is being a spectator, and that is not an option for many of us.

But, look up SCCA Solo2 racing in your area. Give it a try. You need a helmet, and for the stock classes, no modifications are permitted except tires. Top speeds are capped by the course design to about 65mph.

It is 60 seconds of shear violence. No kidding. You have to remember to breath. Our area is 4 laps per event, and $30 to enter. That is 240 seconds of hard driving. If you are running 12 second ET's, that's 20 passes worth.
AutoX is fun. Go to one just for a ride alone and that is free! My first time was in a 280z with a 350 - that was a roller coaster! Lots of fun.

Does it come with a garage lol.
He plopped down $20,000 just to get the first allocation. Then he will pay the MSRP for the car on top of that...I believe that is what he said.

Man thats nuts. Dealer already told me what ever MSRP is is what I can have it for. No markup. On August 8th I am set up to go in when sales arrive to order mine. was going B5 blue but changed mind to sublime green. Once i get mine I will order in the HXC grill, taillights and get norms vented fenders It will go well with my two other cudas

Here in Ontario Canada the base MSRP is 63999. And that includes the auto. The manual trans is a $1000 option. I think in the US you pay extra for the auto and the manual is base, but I could be wrong.

I think I will go looking that way.

That'll be about $89,000 out the door.

Just Crazy

I talked with a different salesman at a different dealer, he didn't say how much TWO guys have put down on HellCats, even with the dealer telling them they didn't even know if they would get any allocations!
Crazy Again

I was reading today on the technology group option. One part of it is forward collision protection. Unfortunately from what I see on Hellcat it is standard while an option on SRT I am hoping I can do a delete on the option. Will see when I place mine on august 8th.

Because people are willing to do this is why dealers can get above MSRP. If everyone refused to pay above MSRP dealers wouldn't ask for it. It's those kind of buyers who have ruined it for everyone else.

I was coming out of a Volunteer meeting at my local Police Division and happened to catch a Silver Hellcat drive by me, I yelled at my group "Thats the new Hellcat!!" and they all looked at me wierd lol

Anyways the car looked great, had a great exhaust note for being low on the revs, the taillights looked Great!

It happened soo fast I didnt have a chance to snap a picture

The operative words being "we've been told". Interesting that no one else has validated 11.2 sec ET, no time slip ever surfaced, no vbox data from the PIR track days, no verified 200+mph top speed. All we see is Dodge marketing "believe us" claims to drive pre-orders. Perhaps all these things are easily accomplished but it would be nice to see some actual production cars in the hands of independent reviewers.

Dodge cited the NHRA as having validated both passes. Rest assured that if they had lied about that the NHRA would have made it very known by now.

The PIR runs were not instrumented and the drag tests were done on an unprepared asphalt surface.
