lifter knocking

I always had a very slight lifter know when the car sat for a few days.
i would start the car and it would knock for 5 seconds and it would go away.
I only have 4,500 miles on the car and its well taken care off,now i stat it
and it knocks loud and doesn't go away. i thought i seen a TBS on the sight
a few months back.I would appreciate any input you folks have on my issue.

Thanks
William

My mechanic said that the L99 engines have some issues with their lifters but not the LS3 engines. Don't know if there's a TSB out for the lifters just yet or not. Might want to check that out.

TSB

Been there, done that.
If you have the L99 here are the numbers for the lifters and the updated valve cover and PCV tube. You might as well do both if you're taking it in. The Valve rocker arm cover-left side and PCV tube are not actually on a TSB but there is a known issue with the original versions allowing excessive oil consumtion. In my case I was seeing black smoke from the exhaust on a cold start. I suspect this is the reason so many owners have resorted to Oil Catch cans.
