Thumbs down Ultimate Performance and Racing turbo kit

Well, I did manage to get my car home and it has some issues. Check engine light on after 20 miles, and then on all the way home. Upon examination of the car, here is what I've found so far...
It's NOT a Garrett turbo. Looks like an E-Bay special.
Oil drainback from the turbo plumbed into the oil drain plug (big no-no).
My car was damaged from improper use of the lift. Right rocker panel is damaged and will have to be replaced. Boost will not regulate properly. It spikes around 9 to 9.5 pounds no matter what the boost controller is set at. Improper heat shielding. Lower radiator hose, A/C compressor, inner fenderwell, and some other lines are at risk from heat.

The biggest insult is that neither Tom or Jeremy at Ultimate Performance will not answer any phone calls, or emails or PM's. Stay away from these guys at all costs. If anyone has given them a deposit on a CC for a kit, do a dispute and get your money back. I doubt you will ever see your kit, or if you do you won't be happy with it.

The good news, is that I will be able to fix these shortcomings. However, the work involved is not for someone who is not mechanically qualified.

damn... and another reason to go with a qualified company... I seen this all over the SRT4 boards.. one dude actually walked away with 50+k of forum members money.

In my opinion that is unacceptable. You did the right thing by posting about it and trying to save members some frustrations.

Before I got into this business I had a similar situation with a company who installed a new 12 bolt rear for me, and it was HORRIBLE... That is one reason I got into this business.

Good luck to you on resolving the issues, and I am glad you are mechanically inclined to make the repairs.

Well, let me say that Jeremy did finally call me. It was not his fault for the delay. Tom had locked everyone out of the shop and just kind of bailed on the business. Very unprofessional, if you ask me. Jeremy answered all my questions and concerns about the kit, and making the changes to make everything perfect will not be as much trouble as I had anticipated. I will be taking this car up to RPM's dyno day this Saturday and will post numbers afterward. I wish Jeremy the best of luck and success in his future endevours.

Also, Jeremy tells me this IS a Garrett turbo, bought from a reputable dealer. He is going to furnish me receipts proving this.

ok... its verified now....i dont think this time it can be said that vinny ten is out to screw him with a biased tearbown...or he didnt document things well enough on his build...
A complete new low and the real shame isnt than Tom isnt answering.....its that JT will blame customers like the OP for the reason why toms health ha deteriorated because they are beinging him stress ....what a bunch of BS, its JTs faul and he is tryign to pass blame for his screwup....

sorry to hear OP, i asked my message board to hold back on commenting on the turbo kit till it gets verified(no speculation) unlike we have to other crap/leech/troll shops(RA, VRT, SGP) just out of respect for coachk, who as many are aware now, he is pretty respected in our community, he recently went onto the business with jt while many did held back a lot on making comments and more warnings about JT, just wishing them luck...i even talked to jt and wished UP well and was hoping JT would not turn back to same crap that also ruined PF(which i expected not to be the case if tom was in charge but that would take a lot out of him), but i guess i was wrong.

Frank...I am sure you know by now that Tom (owner of Ultimate) is not the bad guy in all this....Its JT that is the scum. Tom is a stand up guy...and trust me...if he closed his doors, its to lock JT out....Tom is WELL respected on the Z sites.....
