fake turbo sound?

You guys know how when a turbo is installed an you accelerate there's a little bit of a whistle that the turbo makes? My manager told me if I put a space in for my CAI inductions intake then it would sound like I had a turbo by giving it a fake whistling noise. I was a little confused but is it possible to give my v6 the sound of having a turbo without having to put one in?

I'm sorry - but IMO that's one of those things that fall into the "Just because you can doesn't mean you should" category.

I would not do that at all. I believe their is something that you can put at the tips of your exhaust that make it sound like a turbo. i would not do anything like that at all.

This thread could get ugly.

To answer your question, it will whistle some but won't give you a blow off sound of a turbo.

anyone who knows enough mechanically to know what a turbo is would be able to figure out you dont really have one quite fast. And for the people that dont know what one is, well, they wont care regardless- sort of lose lose to IMHO.

This post put a smile on my face.

As for your post, don't do it...it's always best to upgrade than to pretend that you have something when you really don't have anything...just my 2c.

Why worry what "they" think about your car? Here's something that will make you feel good about your car> Make it sound like a V8!!!!!

Here's what it sounds like:

Go for it!

Might as well put a BIG "Type R" sticker on the side as well.

This plus why? there is no performance gain better off just adding a turbo. The real thing is so much better.
