Dude don't sweat it...I would guess for $100 bucks you could get him to sign your camaro.

Sorry, I just have lost a lot of respect for this guy. All the lawsuits he has been involved in. He sure does know how to hotrod though.

Just because Ford supercharges their engines doesn't mean they can't make a good N/A engine. Alot of people hold this erroneous belief, especially with the 03-04 Terminator. It's actually a better method of weight conservation to supercharger a lower-displacement engine rather than sticking a much larger one under the hood.

where did you get the .81 through the slalom. They clearly state it was on their figure 8.

Quote:
On warm California tarmac, the GT500 generated 0.96g lateral grip and stopped in 109 ft from 60 mph and in 300 from 100 mph. In Michigan, we circled the figure eight in 25.1 sec at 0.81 g.

Can we just leave it at "my e-penis is bigger and scarier than your e-penis" and move on?

I love my Camaro, I don't love the Mustang, get over it. And yes, your opinions on the Ford ponies are just as valid as my opinions on the Camaro.

Some of you guys are killing me with this stuff. In your desperate attempt to declare your favorite vehicle as, without a doubt, the most badass modern pony-car on the face of the planet, you ignore simple physics.

The 2010 Camaro, in its lightest 1SS V8 form, officially weighs in with a hefty curb weight of 3860 lbs. The 2010 GT500’s official curb weight is a even-more-portly 3924 lbs. As we all know, the new Camaro, in manual form, makes 426hp, and the 2010 GT500 makes 540hp. I hate to break it to you, but 114hp will more than make up the 64lb difference between the vehicles.

I also like how you selectively posted from the article to make the Camaro look to have as good or better numbers than the GT500. What about the other statements in the article, like:

Quote:
Ford says you'll see 60 mph in 4.3 sec and hit the quarter in 12.3 at 118 mph.
Quote:
Our best run scrambled to 60 in 4.7 sec and through the quarter mile in 12.7 at 118.1 mph. That trap speed is dead-on the KR's and lends credence to Ford's performance claims.
And, most importantly, quoting the opinion of the person doing the testing:

Quote:
Better launches in a Challenger SRT8 and Camaro SS match or better our 0-to-60 times, but the Shelby's a second or more ahead by 100 mph and 7-10 mph faster in the quarter mile. It's also grippier and quicker around the figure eight and pretty satisfying on real-world roads. So until and unless Chevy crashes this party with an LSA-powered Z/28 or Fiat shoves a Ferrari 12 into the Challenger, it looks like Shelby's GT500 has earned its crown as king of the pony/musclecar hill fair-'n'-square.
Look, you can point out internet/magazine-derived numbers on both the Camaro and GT500 until you are blue in the face, but by posting information in the manner you did, you are setting up a lot of future Camaro owners for a disappointment when they finally do get a chance to run against a GT500. As I have said before, will there be instances where a stock 1 or 2SS beats a stock 2010 GT500? Absolutely, (And you can be sure those videos will be posted here and everywhere else on the internet) but to suggest that will be the outcome the majority of the time when the Camaro is out-classed in raw power as delivered from the factory, well, that’s just a fantasy.

$46,325 for a base GT500 - http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/mustang/models/

Why are we are comparing it to a $36K 2SS. Are we goofy??? If it takes a $46K Mustang to compete does that make any sense?

I agree with all of this......all accept raw power. Nothing raw about s/c. But yes these numbers are bogus, no doubt about it. I would not think these 2 cars are in the same class though, at least IMO. Nothing wrong with competition and bench racing, but lets be honest about the numbers and how we throw them out there!

Its kind of fun to see People bitch back and forth to each other. Defending the car they own by how strong they can grind there teeth.
Mustang owners say. "The GT500 is better" And the Camaro owners say. "Camaro ss is Best." Its like one of those old farm animal spinner things. No shit.

You have to look at every aspect of a car before you can say, TRUTHFULLY which car is better. I look at it as, well the GT500 costs over $10,000 more. For a faster car respectfully. But for $10,000 what do you think you could do to a Camaro SS to compete with it? For that matter what about the GT500's actual competitor, the Z28 Camaro? On paper with the current knowledge of it, its numbers are better then the 500, but can we sit here and bitch all day that one is better then the other without racing them side by side?

SO HERE IS AN IDEA. GO OUT AND RACE THEM SIDE BY SIDE AND SEE WHICH IS BEST FOR THE MONEY AND QUIT CRYING. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ.
