LPW Diff Cover - Axle seals now leaking - Need opinions...

Anyone with the latest version of the LPW diff cover have any issues? I had cover installed, vent is not leaking gear lube, but now both axle seals are leaking. Seals are new. 80w140 gear lube was used.

LPW told me that the thicker gear lube may be slowing the air from venting and possibly forcing oil out thru the seals but I just talked to another C5 member with the LPW cover that used 80w140 lube and has no leaks at all.

Diff fluid at correct level... was not overfilled. One idea was to remove the 0.070" restricter from the brass fitting on cover. I'm going to change fluid to 75w90 and see if there is any change. Any of you smart guys have any ideas?

You should be able to remove diff cover without removing diff. Have to drain it first though.

Restricter removed, 75w90 used. There was an improvement but one side still leaks. Will replace the OEM equivalent with genuine GM seal to see if it makes a difference.

It's super easy to dork up those axle seals.

I'm curious as to what you have done to repair this problem. I too have a LPW cover and also have had leakage issues from seals and vent too.

As in all things on an internet forum, when things go right, hardly anyone posts, but god forbid something go wrong and it's the end of the freakin' world.
