There are fasteners that hold it in place. Looks like someone got creative.

Yup, same area Wild cherry, I will have a lovely chat with my dealer in the morning. my suburban and my 2012 2ss all came from the same dealer. If this is their idea of PDI, I wonder how many others have had their splitters are mounted the same way. I have an slp splitter on my 2012 and it came with 10-12 nuts and bolts to secure it.
