F1 Supercar G2s vs Pilot Sport PS2 vs Pilot Super Sport

I am not the most auto savvy guy in the world. I want to try a new tire when the time comes (very soon from the look of my tires). I'm wondering if any guys here have tried the other two tires I have listed or if they would even fit? I have searched for those tires in the appropriate sizes and they do exist, but for some reason when I search sites for tires that fit (like Tire Rack) the only ones that show are the O.E. and Pirellis. Any info or advice?

It may have to do with the speed rating.

the G2's are a runflat design and the other are not so they will not show up as a direct replacement.

the supersports are the repalcement to the PS2 and supposed to be better and would be what I would personally try if I did not just buy the cheaper G2's next time around.

you will have to run a 315 in the supersport but you can still get a 305 PS2.

I switched away from runflats on my vetts and liked the results as far as ride, noise, strait line grip. I have always been impressed with the Grip on the good years in the corners though. everything on paper says the supersport are a better tire minus the runflat capablity. The supersports right now are a bit more money though.

How does it work with running 315s instead of 305s? Again, I'm not auto pro so what difference would there be? I really like the look of those supersports but I want to make sure I getting a better tire because my G2s didn't impress in wet weather.

well basically you have to look at the width of each tire. so it is 12.6 on the 315 vs 12.3 on the stock 305. I don't think that would cause any issues rubbing.

they will also be 28.7 in diameter as opposed to 28.4. so you speedo will be .6mph to slow at 60mph.

Any updates on new tires? I'd really like to know what tire choices exist. It doesn't have to be limited to the choices listed in this topic. I'm rapidly approaching the end of my current tire life and I would be interested in hearing from some daily drivers, strip guys, and road course pros as well. Also, I live in MS so winter tires aren't of any concern to me.

there are tons of other tires that will physcially fit the car though. tire rack is only going to list exact replacements.

I had 335/30-19 NT05's on my Z06. stock was 325/30-19 there were zero issue with fitment.

I saw someone post in a pic with different brand 315's but not the supersports.

I've had 295's and 315 Michilen Super Sports on since day one and love them. They definitly make the car look tougher.

@actireman - do you have any pics? also, how is the handling on these tires? I am looking for a tire that hooks really well in a straight line (w/o resorting to a drag radial)

No pics, I don't know of anything that will hook on the street. I smoked everybody on the road course on open track day. The tires were awesome.
