CAM & TUNE VS HEADERS & TUNE

I know I will be doing one of these two packages in the next few weeks than whichever one I don't do now I will do next spring. The car is an LS3 and right now has loudmouth IIs and a C.A.I. and it is sounding and running great.
All I want to accomplish with the car is to gain more torque and just have it pull harder through the gears. I am not really looking for more top end speed just want it to really be a hard puller off the line.
Cost wise/performance wise what do you guys think is the best route to go for now until I complete both packages next year?
Headers sound great but so does a cam but it is also the torque that I am looking for.
Thanks for everyones help and thoughts.

No certified tech, but I would think headers and tune. Cam would be sweet to put on down the road, and maybe the man that tunes your car will update it with new mods. Maybe not.. $.02 (worth about that much)

If your plan is to do one now and the other later, I would suggest doing lt headers and tune now and the cam later. Getting air in and exhaust out as efficiently as possible is crucial to creating more power. Once those basics are covered then I'd say move on to cam and whatever else your heart desires.

You said you want it to pull harder off the line and thru the gears.

Well all you need is two things and they're alot cheaper than headers or a cam.

4.10's + Drag Radials.

If all you want is getting off the line faster, you might look into getting gears.

If you want all around more power/torque then go with headers and a tune.

I've always waited until I have the basics (CAI, LT Headers) before getting a cam. You're cam will make more HP if you already have the basics.

[I]Let me preface this post with this - We have done a lot of tuning/ cam, cam/headers/FI work on the new platform and I have no reason to steer you in the wrong direction.

That being typed; The Camaro exhaust manifold is not the best at developing low end grunt; in fact, it's just not very good.

Do the headers - and, from my dyno testing, the Doug Thorley's are absolutely the best "bang for the buck" long tube header for the Camaro.

If you add a cam, all the better.

You Need Long tube headers to take advantage of any cam so I always recommend LT headers first if you have to do them at different times.

Our Street package consists of CAI, LT headers and a Tuner, with a Free tune and consistantly makes 415 RWHP LS3 with gobs more torque everywhere.

Sorry I am at home and can't reference a dyno sheet.

You already have a CAI, so If you buy the headers and tuner from me you still get the tune for FREE.

Contact me for a great deal.

Ted.

Interesting. I'd be interested in taking a look at those test numbers if they're available. What else was in the test? Thanks in advance.

And sound advice as always Jannetty. Street Brawler package looks awesome. You gotta make a poor man's package though. lmao.

Headers, CAI and dyno tune = 425 rwhp...475-485 at the flywheel.

Thank you.

We are always Happy to custom tailor a package to your budget.

The Free Tune offered with Parts purchase has a street value of 500.00 so I think that qualifies as the Poor Mans Package

Congrats Alfie, you have a Strong one there, it is rare but we have seen 420s out of our street package, I just don't want anyone to be disappointed so I advertise on the low side, which is different than the rest of the industry.
