SS Envy or what ?

I don't understand why people keep talking about Z28 at all. I am new to forums but can't understand why people say " ill skip the zl1 and wait for the z28" , does anyone really think they will release a car factory with over 550HP ? People think there is goinna be like 10 different engine choices this is NUTS why can't people accept the fact that the TOP CAMARO for the foreseeable future is the ZL1. I can't imagine anything faster coming to showrooms maybe hennessey or someone but this is crazy everyone should be happy about the ZL1 screw the name it's the beast everyone has been waiting for.

I have not read one post on here where someone thinks the Z28 will have more power than the ZL1. Z28 is gonna be a normally aspirated V8 targeting the Boss 302 in the the hp range of 460 to 480 thereabouts. Oh, and the I predict the ZL1 final hp rating for 2012 is gonna be north of 550hp.

I agree with the OP. Waiting for "the Z28" is a fool's gambit.

No one is really saying the Z28 is going to be the top HP car, the ZL1 has already been given that crown, for now.

We're just saying to first off, bring back the nameplate, and then put it between the SS & ZL1, and go after the Boss 302 market.
Having numerous engines is not out of the ordinary. The new Corvettes, the customers are being offered an option that allows them to pick their engines...by the way that's a $6,000 option.

I don't even know what that means. All I'm saying is the pecking order will be:

ZL1
Z28
SS
LS and LT

Of course I could be wrong, but only if GM take a serious financial turn downwards. They keep healthy, it will happen.

I guess I'm one of those fools, but GM would be the bigger fool if the Z did not come back.

It's coming. There is NO reason to think it will not. Oh, and just for the record as much as I love the fact the ZL1 is coming out and Z28 will be out later, I am in complete love with my Black SS. It is going nowhere. I just love that Chevy is bringing out these bad boy cars.

And I bet if they named the ZL1 the Z28 you would be ready to order??? LOL ITS JUST LETTERS .

The Boss 302 crowd ? I don't thats a HUGE crowd , I don't think Chevy will have LS LT SS ZL1 and Z28 regardless of order , they also have the convertibles so that's a ton of cars already I think they have a car for each niche right now...

Jeesh.

Well, I hope no one decided against the ZL1 just because of the letters. Yeah, that would be silly. However, I do know there is a strong contingent that want their Z28 to be lighter and a normally aspirated V8. These people would not have bought the ZL1 if it were called the Z28. I know one thing, all this talk of these great Camaro's coming out is exciting.

Same old same old....
The history of the Z28 alone, holds a special place for a lot of enthusiasts. When the 2010s came out, I wanted a Z28 over an SS for nostalgic reasons and nothing else. At the time, I didn't care how much the Z28 would have had for power compared to the SS. When the car was introduced however, and we learned that the wouldn't be a Z28 for 2010, I grabbed an SS, knowing that the 2010 is and would be a special car to own in years to come.

Some need to own the biggest, meanest, fastest beast on the streets. Others long to get back a piece of history. Some are lucky enough to get both.
