Helmet Suggestions for an Eye Glass Wearer??
I'm about to be in the market for a helmet for drag/road course racing. I rented a helmet the last time I did some road racing and I had a really hard time getting my eye glasses on right. I'm not sure if the helmet was not the right fit or I'm just a bumbler. Any suggestions before I go and buy a helmet?

Helmet Suggestions for an Eye Glass Wearer??
Laser eye surgery. Best decision of my life.
Edit: I'm sure that's been a thought. I've never found a way to make them fit well. Always wore contacts when riding. Last edited by Caswell239; 05-07-2013 at 08:46 PM. |

It's always going to be a pain in the butt with a helmet and glasses. I got laser eye surgery, but then several years came and went and it was back to glasses. Try contacts.

Do not buy a motorcycle helmet before you check the sanctioning body or driving school/HPDE requirements for helmet certification. A helmet for a motorcycle and a helmet for auto racing are different and have different certifications. Motorcycles use an MXXXX cert number, where XXXX is the year of the standard. Helmets for karting use a KXXXX cert number and helmets for auto racing use a SAXXXX cert number or could have an SFI (Safety Foundation Institute) cert number. Most now require either a 2005 or 2010 cert. Helmets that are over 10 yrs old will most likely not be accepted. I have been drag racing for over twenty years and have a shelf at home with my useless (to old) helmet collection on it. Ensure you know what the requirements are before you spend your money.
Sorry this doesn't answer your question about helmets for eyeglasses but the best thing I have found is to get contacts. I have had a lot of trouble over the years with eyeglasses fogging up and have yet to find a 100% effective anti-fog treatment.

I put the helmet on and then the glasses, got them situated and it was very comfortable for the 25 minute session. I really like this helmet, I returned the G-Force helmet because it wasn't comfortable.
