DIY "Scare free" Afterburners

Can someone please post the measurement to position the afterburner in the center of each light?

Is there something thin as aluminum but brighter or more polished to reflect light?

Is a downloadable template that you can print available ? I think I found it - my ipad wouldn't open PDF file.

Thanks

An ingenious poster altered the tabs so that they had slots to adjust the half moons left or right as needed. See that for easier centering.

As far as a downloadable template...the only one I know of is the one I made and posted earlier in this section.

Good luck.

DIY "Scare free" Afterburners

Just wanted to say thanks for this DIY. Everything turned out great. I used the first dimensions posted just extended the width of the semi circle as suggested in an earlier post.

I ended up with a bit of condensation also so I plan to perform the alcohol trick and put the blow dryer to it.

Pics really don't do this mod justice.

That made the light from the drilled holes refract in different directions. Taped the holes with aluminum tape and reinstalled. Looks very cool. There's more than enough light shining around the block off to be easily seen. Driving around last night had me noticing everyone elses taillights. Mine has more light shining through than many other cars in OEM form. If you're that worried about the brightness, you can buy direct replacement LED taillight bulbs.

You really are only limited by your imagination, with this mod.

I had friends at a machine shop. You can buy thin sheets of aluminum from pretty much any hardware store. The thinner, the better. Easier to cut and work with.

I have a pretty thick layer of tint over my tail lights .. wonder how it would look if I just took a razor and cut the bottom at an angle to look like after burners ?
