How to safely disable my 11 ?

So we're on a 4000 mile road trip and I have to park in a deck (2000 miles from home) for three days and it will be difficult to keep an eye on her. I intend to park face first with the wheels cut all the way (to make towing difficult) and a steering wheel lock. I'd like to pull the ignition fuse as well but I don't know if this could cause a problem. My guess is it wouldn't, but with late model cars you never know. Any info would be welcome and appreciated.

Just buy extra insurance before your trip and don't worry about it!

Cutting your wheels to the side as you've described is a great move... saved my skin a few years ago, when an overzealous local parade organizer THOUGHT that my vehicle was illegally parked (I was not near the vehicle, found out later). He tried to have my truck towed, but the tow driver could not do so, because of the way my wheels were turned... after 30 minutes of trying, he gave up, and THEN it was found that I was not illegally parked anyhow. Sure, I would have eventually gotten my car back, but the hassle, headache, cost outlay, would have been huge. Lucky for me, my wheels happened to be turned enough to prevent that!). However, be aware that most tow truck operators--- or anybody who wants to buy some--- have individual wheel dollies that take about ten seconds to install under each wheel. Even a vehicle with wheels turned, in gear, parking brake set, can be placed on these dollies and hand- pushed down a street in moments. In any case, the more difficult you make it, the more "casual" thieves you'll slow down, or encourage to look for easier prey.

I haven't cracked open the fuse box to look for this, but is there a fuse you can remove that will disable the starter? Won't stop a serious and determined thief, but if some punk kid who thinks he's a master "Gone in Sixty Seconds" automobile thief tries to touch the red wire to the blue wire and nothing happens, maybe he'll move along to that '92 Accord parked a few spots away.

Don't disconnect the battery, you won't be able to open the trunk to reinstall.

Edit:
Relax and I hope you have fun on your trip! The Camaro is a great road car.
Totally could, yessir you can!

Use key to manually open door

Push trunk button on door

Open trunk!

-Pop your hood. On the passenger side you'll see a black rectangular plastic cover. Open it up and follow the instructions below:

Remove #5 and #20 (15A fuses) (photo of location below)

Put the fuses in the trunk and call it a day. Just make sure you reinstall them before you try and take off when you get back or else the car wont start

Notes:
-Credit goes to Comrando for posting the link to the FUSE PULL thread. This will ensure no amateur thief will be able to start and drive the car away. It also goes without saying, if someone REALLY wants it bad, they'll find a way to take it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm a pretty relaxed dude, but also live in the real world and an "ounce of prevention" is never a bad idea.

I do have good insurance, but I like the SS I've got as it's been trouble free from day one.

The lights will work in your house during a power outage, too. Just turn on the switch.

Wait...so if the battery dies, how do you get into the trunk to replace it?
