New PBests and Race Results

Thought I'd share.
Had new PB last week first pass of the season on a winter revised setup.
Finally get to be on the fast quarter bolt on list (21st) @12.317 / 113.89 w ok DA of 1217.
Moved up to 13th on the eighth- broke into 7s at 90.00
Felt solid.
DA went to pot the third day with a 20 mph head wind-o'well.
Got a 0.018 RT on pro tree on last run-was pleased.
Was great to get away from the snow and into some 80s and Green vegetation.
Was great to see some racing buddies again.

Tim

Congrats on the new best! Car looks good.

Look forward to seeing you in Atlanta in May with my new set-up. Although, I am not sure I want to see that R/T against me.

3- What would be the expected drop in ET if I changed from 3.25 to 3.70?

4- What disadvantages are there to the Eaton Tru Track?

a- weight?
b- inherent loss/gain due to mechanics?
c- increase in fishtail on turns / autox downgrade?

1. About 0.10(1/10th)-0.15 improvement in ET. For every 10hp you gain about a 10th until you start getting into the single digits.

4. I switched from the factory posi to the TruTrac in my Silverado and my ET stayed the same. It feels a little more grabby on turns but since I really had no traction issues before it did not give me any gains. I switched because I broke the stock posi so the advantage to the TruTrac is it is a much stronger unit.

Nice run Tim. Wish I could have been there. Trying to get to at least one this year. My house still isn't finished, but getting close.
Not sure what the disadvantages are in the TruTrac, as I have one and haven't noticed any so far. I installed it to remove the weak link in the system and get better traction to both wheels.

Thanks for the replies-good to hear from you.

From what I've been told-all clutch packs will fail eventually which is Not acceptable at the burnout box.

Eaton- would like to hear more feedback-particularly from anyone who's autoxd with one. Is this unit a downgrade vs stock with say a Jannetty posi mod and billet caps? Turning drive power route issues?-limited knowledge.

Will run the posi mod stuff and get an entire rear diff spare of the same, if the Eaton is not as good for autox (just getting into it -although it's a Second lower priority).

Thanks John-you too.
Lost my second Master set of keys just outside gate while putting sway bar on -duh.
Luckily a biker found them and mailing them to me.
Thnxs for the shop talk.

Time permitting, always looking for your opinion for my tranny diff post I just created in proper section. There's got to be a correlation between gear and ET. If 3.70 gear makes x mph in 4th gear at x rpm(Per sticky table web site) and my 3.27 runs x ET at same rpm- then wouldn't there be a proportional formula? Easy as difference in mph % applied to ET reduction?
