Recycle Air

Not sure if mines working properly or not. I have a 99 Silverado v8, a 2000 Tahoe v8, a 06 Silverado v6, and of course the Camaro SS (LS3). All of them but my Camaro work great. Say you run both the Recycle Air, and the AC for a few mins, turn off the AC and for the rest of the time its COLD air blowing just from the Recycle Air (most of the time its cold even w/o using the AC) However in the Camaro its always just blah air; not hot/warm or cold/cool air. Does everyone elses Camaro do this? Or just mine. Its nothing to complain over, was only curious. And no I'm not to cheap to run the AC before anyone says lol. Always fill up with 93!

I havent actually used the recycle air on mine yet.. However the 'normal' A/C only blows fairly cold while I'm moving. Once I stop at a light or something it doesnt do much good.

Hmm never really payed attention to it at a light...I'll make a note of that to check it next time I'm out. Maybe theses cars have weak AC/fans ?

Got an appointment on Monday to have mine checked out. Does just what yours is doing. I thought it was due to the 90 plus degree heat we are having, but when I got in my Acura and turned on the AC I could feel the difference in the air instantly. I will post what I they find.

I use the recycle mod when I'm behind a disel truck or smoker in traffic. Works fine to cutoff the smell from the outside air.

You should use recycle air for A/C. Think about it, when recycle you are cooling cooled air that has been cooled by the car A/C. Example it was 95 out yesterday on my 5 hour drive from Huntsville. Within a hour I turned the fan down from the middle to just 1 click because we where freezing.

No recycle you are always having to cool hot air since you are pulling 100 percent from outside.

Recycle is still litting in some outside air and letting some cold air out so you get oxegen but it is a huge difference in this heat.

Ok, Yesterday I had the Ac serviced. The SA said it was just probably low on freon. They did a complete evac, and recharge. Today I took the car out in 95 degree heat, and did not have to move the dial past the low setting.

Before I would have been on atleast level 3. So if your Ac does not feel right take it in.
