I did it too! I had a 2012 2ss with a Maggie and headers I had just put on three weeks earlier. Car had 3,000 miles. Took the car to my guy, had him put it back to stock and traded it in. My tuner called the other day to tell me he had a buyer for the intake, headers and blower. For an even ( just about) trade, I'm upping the ZL1. Headers, pully kit, CAI, ported snout, 160 thermostat and some NGK plugs. Plus tune. Gunna have him also install a bigger catch can and resivior. Lost my ass on the trade, but I would do it again in a second. The ride quality difference is amazing. The ZL1 lives up to the hype on all accounts!!

I'll trade my SS for the new C7 but not a ZL1. Then again with the BS ive gone through with two GM dealerships so far, I might be trading it for the cobra or lightly used Porsche.

I don't really hate the ZL1 but there are a long list of cars that I personally would rather have over it.

It is all about perspective. the ZL1 drives way nicer than an SS. it is ~20k more though. the car seems to polarize people for some reason. Some camaro people and ford people act like it is a complete pile waste of time because the 1/4 times are good not great.

from behind the drivers seat though it drives awesome hands down amazing IMO.

The downsides

it is not break neck acceration like my Z06 was. very smooth power. Gas milage blows 20mph is all I can get driving like a grandma. I could get 24mpg's at 85mph up the freeway in my Z06.

there are so many sweet cars out right now it is hard. I feel like if the price does not bother you though the car is better than the SS in every way and in some ways just on another level. the ride quality to grip level on this car is the best I have ever driven to date.

fcu678...You're killn' me. I traded in my 2010 Rally Yellow SS (not as heavily modded as yours). Really hated leaving it at the dealer's, but just couldn't pick the right lottery numbers. The only saving thing is that I bought the ZL1 from a dealer which is 400 miles from me, so I don't have to see my SS on the street.

I'm working with my dealer trying to get a silver 2013 with black GFX and carbon insert that they have on the lot but I'm keeping my SS. Were stuck at $3k over msrp. I refuse to do the deal unless its msrp.
