Thumbs up today

I had to run out to the store today. On the highway I saw a new lime green Mustang coming up on my left. I could hear the whine of a supercharger as he got close. He hung back a little bit, and then pulled along side. Much to my shock, he gave me a thumbs up. I responded with the same. It was a nice change of pace from the other Mustang drivers I have encountered so far.

I'm a car guy and love almost all sports cars. I wave to every Camaro I see but I dont wave first if it's a different brand. If a mustang or challenger etc. wants to throw a wave out to me, then I am glad to give the respect back with a wave. Just dont initiate it.

I waved first at a mustang convertible owner, and got a 1 finger salute back. Since then I have not waved at other makes.

You sure it was his thumb?

That Mustang guy wouldn't be happy with you calling him 'lime green'.

Is a thumbs up superior to, or inferior to, a wave? I want to know if I should keep may car

On a side note, I wave to Camaro owners sometimes but more likely give them a thumbs up. In fact I give every cool car driver a thumbs up, I know all too well the sweat equity he or she has made or will make on the car. I couldn't care less if its a Ford or something else.

Without fail, since 1989 when I started driving 'cool cars' I have never received anything in return but a thumbs up or a wave

I throw a peace sign, or thumbs up to most drivers of nice cars.

I am a car nut at heart. I normally wave unless it is an older car, then it is a thumbs up.

I was cruising to work about a week ago and had an older couple (I'm 30, they were likely mid-50's, so older than me, not necessarily 'old') coming up beside me in a newer Mustang convertible... as I hit my exit ramp and they passed by, I waved, and the dude's hag of a wife sitting in the passenger seat just looked at me and looked away... beyotch... but as others have said... I'm a car guy, so I respect 'em all...

I got "pretty car for a pretty lady" yelled at me by a Mustang driver. I wish I quick on my feet because my boyfriend said, you should have yelled back, "same to you."

Cool story OP

Except for the guys in my ever-increasing gen5 circle, most Camaro owners don't even look. I get more positive responses from Chally and Mustang owners that anything else. The Vette guys don't look either. I live in a snooty city. LOL.

I, however, offer the OP a thumbs-up!
