Supercharger.

Yeah, I understand that turbos are a little more efficient, but with Magnuson's new 4-lobe S/Cs that are going on GM's 6.2s, it's getting close to the same efficiency, allegedly. I love the whine that comes from a supercharger too. I can't wait for the S/C'd model to come out

There were a few supercharged Mercury Marauders at the drag strip this summer. With their quiet exhausts, the blower whine was just about all you heard when they went down the track.

It was so cool

Actually that isn't true. There is no supercharged cobalt in production (and the turbo cobalt begins production for 2009). Chevy currently produces 1 of each.. The ZR-1 is supercharged, and the HHR SS is turbo'd.

As for me, I'll prolly go for a twin-turbo setup assuming i have the money.

We need an option for neither. I'll stick to NA.

The XLR-V and STS-V continue to use the supercharged LC3 Northstar and the 2009 CTS-V has the supercharged LSA.

I swear there's one other one I'm forgetting right now.

The Cobalt SS, HHR SS, Solstice GXP and Sky Redline all use direction injection turbo engines. SAABs have some turbo applications, but they bore me so much I can't be bothered to go look them up

Which ever one i can force more power and torque through... lol Is there any way to add both? (stupid question, I know...)
But in all seriousness, probably a supercharger, only because turbo's often require an intercooler, and that's just more work to cram it under the hood...

I'm sure you can add both, but I don't know why you would. And superchargers need intercoolers as much as turbos do. As you compress air it heats up. hot air is less dense than cool air (thats why hot air rises). The less dense the air is, the less oxygen there is. And the less oxygen there is, the less fuel you can burn and the less power you can make. Thats why people use forced induction in the first place, to add more oxygen.

didn't realize that superchargers needed intercoolers too... good to know. I'll keep that in mind. I'm leaning more towards a super-charger, IMO, Superchargers aremore of a classic musclecsr thing, and turbochargers are more of a tuner thing.

i'm talkin about a year back not now it seems like they're trying to please both crowds right now but the ss badge has become slandered by GM when theres a SS 4 banger (not true for the camaro though)

i think that the turbos should be for the imports and leave the american cars to be supercharged. personally i'd rather have a zz572 n/a then a twin turbo 4 banger but that would be expensive so ill settle for the supercharged V-8
