I certainly hope the hennessy team isn't purposely dogging it for its baseline test so they can inflate their "improved" track numbers. They've disabled the comments on the video so I can't ask them any questions...

If they are, it's just barely. That's pretty darn close to all the other videos on youtube that show the quarter mile. I'm sure their gains will be impressive regardless.

Not if he was running 13.9 (unless he was a horrible driver).... a stock challenger SRT-8 will do 13.2 in the 1/4 no problem at around 109mph....I think this was versus an R/T (5.7 HEMI, not the 6.1 HEMI)

Yes, it's an SRT8. The rims and black spoiler are the give aways.

Well a camaro SS is supposed to run 13 flat but it wasn't even close. I think it was an SRT8.

You also gotta figure too that these cars are not even broken in yet. The longer these cars are out the faster times we are gonna see! Its hard to be excellent drivers when you arent used to a car. i think we will be seeing low 13s to high 12s here in a couple months...and one will be mine!

Anybody notice the Hennessey guy was shifting at 6000? I wonder if shifting at higher RPM would get a better time? Plus he shifted into 4th at 102mph. There was a thread on here that showed 3rd gear should be good to 111-112 mph. I bet revving it out would have shaved a couple tenths off and given a higher mph. Found another:

Doesn't show the time, but gives all you people wanting bigger wheels how it will look with the GM 21" wheels on it.

Notice the reaction time, the 60ft and as already stated the 4th gear shift at 102mph. Hennessey is definately not pushing the car. The other video, well it is the first drag video we have. I wouldn't put too much into it, the car is definately faster than these times!

I noticed also that he didn't use launch control. Hold your foot to the floor, wait for 4000 rpm, side step. A 2.3 60 foot? That's atrocious. You do what you gotta do to sell your aftermarket stuff. Even new, the Camaro's gotta be capable of 13.2-13.4 @ at least 112-114.
