2010 console gauges problem
Hi , I wanted to know why they have different console gauges packs for the V-8 and V-6 manual cars. Do the gauges work different in all the the models

The shift pattern on the console is different.
V8 has reverse to the right V6 has reverse to the left 2LT and 2SS gauges are the same. ZL1 has boost gauge instead of battery voltage

Thanks Slick Rick, I have a set from a v6Auto but didn't know if the gauges are different. Also do you know if the shifter boot will transfer over or is it a part of the console.

The A6 has no boot it needs no boot and there is no way to mount a boot.

Thank you for the answer on the gauges. The other question was that I have access to v6 auto set. I wanted to know if the boot on my manual ia attached to the console or its separate from the console and attached to the tunnel of the car ?

Well, at least on the M6 the boot snaps down in to the console. So, technically it's attached to the console but it just snaps in. My guess is that the A6 bood does the same so the console is probably the same between them.
Edit: Take a look at the above pics. The actual boot is connected to the gray trim ring that has the shift pattern in it. To take it off you use your finger to grab the edge of the gray trim ring via the boot and then pull up. It just snaps/un-snaps into the console. Not sure if that answers your question or not.

Auto for V6 and V8 will work on either one. V6 manual and V8 manual are different. = 3 different guages.

I stand corrected. I do have to ask where can I see a photo of this boot?

Here are pics of the Fesler automatic shift boot for an example.
Camaro5 member IndPower also makes them which is who I'm getting mine from. |
