Service Maintenance
Also posted in the service section, but looks like its a slow responder....
Looking to perform my 45k (severe) mile maintenance this weekend which means I'll be doing the transmission and rear diff fluid, oil, plus my brakes. Which fluids would be preferred for the transmission, oil and rear diff, plus which brake pads are best? I'll most likely be going to O'Reilly or Advance Auto to buy the stuff. I figured I’d ask here before I start browsing random posts. 1. Transmission Fluid: 2. Engine Oil: 3. Rear Diff: 4. Brake Pads: Car is an A6

You're going to get lots of advice on this, but your Camaro was designed and engineered to work with OEM-recommended fluids and parts. You can't go wrong with that.

Yeah I figured I'd be getting a lot of advice on what works for what. Thanks!

Not really sure any of those really -need- to be flushed on an A6, aside from the engine oil changes of course
M6's definitely need the clutch/brake fluid to be flushed every now and again depending on how hard you romp on it. I'd go with the recommended synthetics, but everyone is going to have their own preference. |
