This is why you don't try and compete with AWD supercars from a standing start with street tires. Turbo S, drive it anywhere, 24mpg, top down, all the amenities, cruise through canyons, all in factory street trim. The GTR is near the performance as the 911, but, IMO does not have the style, class, quality, identity or resale value that a 911 has. It looks like a modified Altima.

Doing a fun run between Freeport and Galveston maybe a month ago, I was behind a Z06 (mod'd with what I don't know) and a GTR at a stop light in my ZL1.(Damn I wish I had a GoPro) When the light turned green they took off and I tried to follow and the Z06 absolutely destroyed the GTR. Then they slowed down to 50 and from a roll took off. I followed both up to about 120mph before they backed it down and the Z06 definitely won hands down again.

Was/is the GTR faster than my stock ZL1, hell yeah. But then again it is a 95K car. I would hope it would be faster. Is it the end all. No. I agree it is a fast little car, but it does seem to be lacking a soul.

Still extremely happy with my ZL1.

I have never understood the "no soul" comment. I heard that a LOT in the motorcycle world..."it does what it is designed to do", well duh! Is that not what we want?

Usually, but not always, whenever someone talks about "soul" they mention some quirk or odd characteristic or something. What is soulless about the GTR? Do our Camaros have soul?

Not pickinh on you 2SS, but I just do not understand this line of thinking.

I saw a modded GTR at our local track in Sacramento, after driver 2 hours from San Francisco run 10.29 ET. After cooling off, some racing fuel and tuning it ran 9.42 et. then drove back home. I was very impressed.

The new 2014 gtrs ain't no joke. I found one on I10 and he gave me a hell of a run he had bolt ones and I'm making 700. He was at my bumper the whole run. If I had 100k I'd prolly buy one.
