Something to look at...

Vauxhall VXR8

Vauxhall is GM's UK Sumbsidiarry. This looks like the UK version of the forthcoming Pontiac GXP. The fun part is a 430Hp LS3 0-60 in 4.9. if they can have one why can't we?

I'm thinking we will. Oh sure it says 402 hp, due to the fact that it can't breathe as easy. GM says something like that nearly every time they put Vette engine into a 'lesser' car. We will see once testers get ahold of the G8 GXP.

I'm sure there are emissions related conditions that alter the power output. maybe a different intake system and different exhaust set-up. Maybe they're underrating them too. I'm sure it wouldn't take too much $$$ to get an LS3 to make the same power in a G8

Here's Top Gear's review. They seemed to like it.

Can be down to the octane rating of the fuel... UK's Normal Unleaded is 95 Ron and Super is 97-99ron and if you have ultra deep pockets you can use 102ron but that's just mad £££££££ At about $22-$25 per Gallon.

It probably means that the ecu is mapped to advance the ignition more in the VXR8 than the GXP
