Does the CAI scoop really help?

Looking for people who have added the Apex Motorsports CAI Scoop really help on the V6 model? Is it a noticeable performance increase?

I added it to my K&N Typhoon intake. It made quite a noticeable difference... well, noticeable enough to feel a power difference and keep the air filter / air box area significantly cooler to the touch.

I noticed an improvement in throttle response when I added mine. It will benefit the car any time it is moving forward, so yes it will help on the track.

Yes I thought it helped too. As long as you have a aftermarket cai with an open bottom. The CAI brand is perfect, but even if you've got a Airaid- just lose the stock scoop and open the bottom and side by the fender with a couple of 2" holes (at least that's what I did!).

The scoop will direct some fresh air where your motor needs it the most. I felt a nice improvement in throttle response. The Apex kit is well designed and you retain 2quarts of washer fluid capacity (down from the 1gallon stock).

Don't expect it to be like a supercharger but you definitely will notice an improvement. It directs a much greater quantity of fresh air into the intake than the stock funnel ever could. You will notice improved throttle response in general and when you get hard on the throttle you will feel more power, especially above 3000 RPM.

Whoosh!

Sweet, the butt dyno is the most important dyno (to me anyways)
Thanks guys!

Does moving the washer bottle kit help with performance as well or is that just for convenience?

The scoop occupies the same space as the stock washer fluid tank. It has to be removed when you install the scoop. That is what the replacement tank is for.

Ahhhh.... that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clearing that up.

Will this scoop and water relocation kit be compatible with the IPF S/C kit?

I know I'll loose the CAI box and intake tube and filter but will the scoop still work for the IPF intake?

I have the Roto-Fab CAI, Roto-Fab Windshield Washer Relocation Kit, and the ADM Ram Air Scoop in my 2010 Camaro 2LT/RS and once I installed the final part (the ADM Ram Air Scoop) the sound improved and Butt Dyno really went up. The only thing I have left to do is install a set of DT Shortie Headers on my car.
