Will teh 18" steelies fit my 2014 SS?
I am needing to ge tmy car on the road for the rest of the winter (don't laugh) and I am trying to buy some winters. I can get these 18" steelies, and get cheaper tires for them than buying 20" winter tires. My only concern in if they will clear the brakes. Please, any input would help greatly.

If your SS has the roller blades on the Brembos, then no, they won't.

Yea I don't really know what they're called. I know they can be sawed off and the 18s will fit if you want to go that route.
I have Blizzak LM32s on my stock 20's and it's been great, and you live relatively close to me. |

Unfortunately, GM screwed everyone on the decent tire/rim size route with these cars. That is arguably my only real complaint about my Camaro.

What size is the spare? I thought I read that that's why a spare is not an option in the SS. It wont clear the Brembos.

As mentioned above there are only a few 18 inch wheels that will fit with the Brembos, and the heritage wheels won't. I just went through this a month ago on mine. I really wanted 18s, but the only place that would guarantee fit for 18 inch wheels is tirerack. If you look up wheels for a 14 SS on their site it will list 18 inch wheels that fit. Unfortunately the winter wheels and tires are slim pickins this time of year. Apparently the tire companies do not want to get stuck with any leftovers so they underproduce. I ended up getting 19 inch wheels and the Cooper winter tires in order to keep the cost down. I wish I could have used the heritage wheel and Blizzak setup I had on my 2LT, but oh well. Good luck

Nope. I ended up having to just get OEM sized snow tires, because steel wheels that would fit over the brakes were weird sizes and those plus tires cost more than just getting OEM sized snows.
That said, they're phenomenal. Shameless plug: Nitto NT90W Best car I've ever driven in the snow. |
