If you special ordered your car for 150 you could have ordered the compact spare with jack & lug wrench!!!

Buy it thru the parts dept. if you are so worried!!!

Good Luck with your New SS.

Not on the SS (as I understand it). Is anyone making a little spare and jack that will fit between the brakes on an SS? I'd hate to miss a flight because I got a flat and had to w8 on OnStar to save me...

Run flat tires.
I'm not sure I will get them, but i'm thinking about it.

You are parking your Camaro at an airport and you are worried about a flat? I'd suggest either a beater car with a spare for the airport trips or a shuttle.

Everybody says that but at DFW Remote, the manager put it to me like this: "This ain't a Wally World...everyone parked here has dropped at least $500 on airline tickets...24/7 camera coverage all over the lot...not a single group of punks ever hangs out here...park by a nice car and you'll be fine."

The last several flights, I've driven the Camaro over. Last time out, I parked between a cherry 2010 GT500 and a new Mini Cooper and there was another 2010 Camaro not 20 feet away. There were BMWs, Benz, Vettes, etc. all over the place. Not a scratch on my baby.

PS: I live about 130 miles West of DFW and my option is to leave my baby with my wife...she commutes 120 miles every day and really likes to drive my Camaro. And yea, I'm a little worried about missing a flight because of a flat.

Will a full size spare fit in the trunk ?

Will this size Camaro aluminum rim and tire fit into the trunk if a driver wants to ride around with this back there???

P245/45ZR20 tire, on 20 x 8" rim, +35mm offset (front Camaro SS rim) (28 11/16" outside diameter by about 11.0" tall fully inflated)

If that fits in the trunk, then you can indeed drive around with a spare tire in your car. the outside diameter in the front and back match. (someone here should be able to verify if it fits into the trunk compartment.) As long as you don't mind all that extra weight in the back.

Regardless of whether a full sized replacement will fit, you really need to consider carrying one for the front and one for the rear, if you're that worried about a flat.

How about something generic that mounts to the thread pattern and lets you keep rolling at a reduced speed? Anything of the sort out there?

Wouldn't the spare still have to be at least a 19" wheel to work? I think I've only ever heard of spares being (at most) an inch smaller than the regular wheels.

Amen to the "no spare tire" option for the SS.

I also don't like the different size tires on front and back on the RS option for LT and the SS's. Can't rotate them which is why I stuck with the 2LT.

This is one of the reasons I bought the 2LT so I could get the spare tire option.

I think someone found a way to get a spare tire for the SS models. Do a search.
