Need Help-Car got Skunked

Hi, I've been on here a long time, but only post once in a blue moon. Anyways on my way to work tonight on the road was skunk walking directly down the middle of it. No reaction time at all and I managed to slow down just enough that I just skimmed over him and heard a thud, but he didnt get underneath my tires though but sprayed the entire undercarriage didn't smell until I got to work. Need to know how to get rid of it. Going to take to a car wash that has a undericarriage blast, but not sure if it will get rid of it. My car has been cherry until now.

Spray it with tomato juice (Home Depot type spray bottle, dilute as nec.) and rinse well, repeat if necessary.

Never did it, heard this works.

Also heard Simple Green works well.

Good luck!

Roll up your windows and hold your nose. It will go away in a few days.

Use tomato juice though dilute just enough to get it to spray out. The more you dilute it the less it works and more applications you will have to do so if you can get it to spray without diluting it then please do. Mythbusters did a show on the best ways to get rid of the skunk smell so you may want to look that episode up.

Apparently you've never been sprayed before. There are reasons why it's recommended to throw away anything that gets sprayed if possible.

Thank you for all your help. To get me home for now I'm gonna do the car wash. Live 30 minutes from home. Gonna hold my breath, but will try that tomato juice solution. Heard about it before for people not cars and I kinda remember seeing that mythbusters episode on skunk smell.

LOL yeah febreeze works pretty well. Got it washed yesterday. Found some of that goo on the rear bumper. Thought there goes my paint as it is the blue flash metallic paint they had for 08 model year luckily I had the simoniz treament done and our local body shop took it right off. Still stinks, but it is getting better. A worker in my insurance agency office had the same thing happen to her. Took about a week to wear mostly off. Got some of those pine tree new car smell thingys hanging from my rear view mirror.
Can't smell it too badly when going. Just when I get in the car I got to hold my breath or

Too Bad I don't have a video camera that dould hide at work to see the look of my co workers faces when they park next to my car. That would a great moment especially since I park in the garage.
