Pittsburgh Auto Show Disapointment

I took my son and grandson to the Pittsburgh Auto Show Sunday and was majorly disapointed.
There wasn't anything American that was performance oriented, except for maybe a Ford Raptor.
No Viper, No Cobra, No 1LE, No new SS Sedan, No 2014 Stingray.
There was A ZL1 Convertible, a 60 Anaversary ZR1, and the blue Hot Wheels Camaro but it didn't have the cool track.
You had to go Foreign to see performance.
Jaguar, Hyuandi, BMW M6, Audi SR4, S8, Lotus.
Had to brave the 6" of snow that came Saturday night at my place but drove out of it by Morgantown.

Looks like you should have stayed home if you wanted to see American performance vehicles. Lol

The San Antonio Auto Show is like that as well. Unless you live in LA, Chicago, or New York, I don't think you really get a chance to see the good stuff.

Here's a tip for next time, check out the respective event's web site prior to going. I almost went to the Philly auto show last month and according to their web site, Jay leno had a better collection than what they were showing I had hopes of checking out the new Stingray but they didn't have much listed on the site so I decided not to waste my time or money.

Agree.

This was my third year in a row at Pittsburgh, and it's been essentially the same. It's not "bad," but one isn't going to see the latest and greatest -- it's more about "the masses" in the smaller cities. It was the same when we lived in DC. There was better manufacturer collateral there, but still nothing more "extreme" car-wise.

The Pittsburg auto show sounds like the ones we have in Milwaukee. Ours is organized by Motor Trend and its basically just a new car showroom. There's a classics area but hardly any one thing you would go to the show for. I'm going next weekend primarily because we might be buying a new car and it lets us look at all in one spot. But otherwise, no concept vehicles, no SEMA cars, no upcoming models and hardly any female models either. It's not really an auto show, more of a large dealership lot indoors.

This about explains it. It's actually great for people who are in the market for a new car as there aren't salesmen there to harass you -- just people who are there solely to answer questions.

I go to cruise-ins and car shows all summer long, so a nice, indoor show in the winter is actually nice. It's also nice to learn more about what else is on the road -- and one can actually touch the stuff.
