ZL1 or Z/28 belly pan on a 2013 1LE

Has anyone installed the ZL1 underbelly pan or the Z/28 one?

Which one would fit/work better on a 2013 1LE?

I have considered looking into this as well. There was a similar discussion in the Z/28 section on the forum.

I just got the Z/28 belly pan delivered. Hopefully I will put it on over the weekend. I do have a '14 1LE, though, not '13.

My $.02....Thought about a belly pan....but not until I get a vented hood to go with it....The belly pan helps draw out heat and add downforce to the front....Part of a "system"....I think without hood vents, the engine heat is drawn out underneath the car...so a belly pan by itself may not be any benefit...

Interesting topic....but a little hazy to me....

Another benefit of the belly pan is that it is an additional protective layer. Now that I have oil cooler's lines going along the subframe, about 2" above the subframe's level, I'd like to make sure I limit the possibility of an unlikely event where a tree branch or similar directly hits my oil lines.

No kidding. If I got a Z/28 belly pan it would be the only "Flat" belly I've ever had!!

I've actually been thinking along the same lines as you. I figure without the hood vents to let out the high pressure air and heat then a belly pan would just close it out more and reduce airflow to the engine for cooling. So I also think it would be something that should be done concurrently with adding hood vents to a 2010-2013 model.

I'm also thinking there was a reason the engineers left the belly pans off of our cars. Whether it was cooling or another reason. Does anyone know if the Z/28 pan will fit a 2013 1LE?

I dont think the 09-11 subframes have the square holes for the nuts to snap into.

It will fit. The sub frames are all the same. At most it may require a little trimming on the fascia underneath if its too tight. See post 18 pics... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=384030
