This thing's addictive. By day 2 I had my Camaro works converted. I'm still not very good though -I keep losing those invitational grudge matches where everybody's got some high-end car.

On to the 2nd fix:

At the main menu enter CAR GARAGE----> TUNING, press 'Y' to enter quick tuning mode.
Under the heading 'balance' move the slider all the way to OVERSTEER. That's right oversteer. Apparently the developer labeled this slider wrong or its a glitch. Turning the slider to oversteer will actually add understeer.

So you've used these settings and you find they are better?

I am having a hard time with the higher end cars (Ford GT, Viper, etc.) I just can't seem to get the steering down - they are really "touchy". I'll try this out and see if it helps.

I was about to ask if anyone did this lol. This setting helped so much better! During my test run...I never placed higher than 12th place...I placed 4th!

I'd be curious to have some real life car tuners go into the advanced tuning screen and tell me how realistically adjustments to the spring rates and roll bar and all the other settings are simulated.

you know i found out that with the way i set my cars up i am better at taking turns if i go in hard. screw slowing down on all turns.

get your car sideways lock up the brakes and gas it again and pull out with speed. well i did that with the bmw challenge to beat the track time so i started to do that with all the cars i drive.

I played for the first time, last night, for about three hours and it was okay. I don't think I had my setting correct, but got out of that M3 finally. I have to say I couldn't wait to get my SS, so I bought it through the store. I tried my hand at the 'Ring and that was just bad news. I'm just not jiving with the controls that well, but I think it'll help once I get a little more "seat"-time. I can't wait to unlock more cars and other goodies

My Corvette Z06 in NFS Undercover was pretty good. My Camaro was as well...I actually had better control over my Chevys than my other cars in that game.

I didn't play Undercover, Last one I had was Carbon, and my Z06 was terrible in any configuration. It acted like it had too much power
