Swing and a miss @ the dealer today. They have no loaner cars so I'll be back tomorrow. Did talk with their service ace and he looked at the car and wants to send it back to the trim shop, I agreed with him. He knows these tops etal are a pain in the ass to work on. He will be the one to pull the wet carpet, change the padding and re install.

I really don't like the incessant problems with the car, who would? However the service people that I have dealt with have treated me very well, they have yet to tell me no to anything.

Stay tuned.

Wow, my dealer usually just gets me a rental from Enterprise. they don't keep loaner cars for insurance reasons.

Yeah, my dealer also got me a loaner from Enterprise when I had the dash bubbling fixed. Totally free of charge.

Got to meet the new service manager today when I was given the run around for the second time about availability of loner. I introduced myself and he said, "Is your's the red Camaro?" I couldn't help but laugh out loud, I asked him how'd he know and he said he had been briefed about the car. Talked for about 15 minutes, he is a car guy not just a suit. This is a very BIG dealership... and I am famous. I'm the guy, "that knows ALL about his Camaro and brings his own TSBs with him." (Thanks C5.com)

He assured me that the leak will be taken care of and that my carpets will be removed cleaned and padding replaced. We'll see. I have been trying to stay optimistic.

Different dealers deal with loaners cars in different ways.

Some dealers, like the main one I deal with, have their own fleet of loaner cars, mainly Chevy Cruizes. Some other dealers have a standing arraingment with the local car rental company such as Enterprise.

Either way, I believe (you'd have to check to make sure) that if your car is in for warranty work and they have to keep it overnight or longer, they are required to provide a loaner car of some type.

AFAIK, they are NOT however required to make it a vehicle similar or better than what you brought in for work.

Right, I have driven a Cruise 2 times a Malibu 3 times and a Impala once.

There is always car rental paperwork. I have also been driven back and forth to work and the dealership a few times. Man no wonder they know me!!

I have never had any car rental paperwork on a loaner. The dealer takes care of everything.

I had to fill out paperwork when I got my loaner from Enterprise for the dash bubbling issue. They even hit my card for a 100 dollar hold......which was fully refunded upon return.

Unless policy has changed in the last 4 years, that was my last loaner, I never heard of anything like that.

I wasn't too thrilled about it, but honestly had no choice. The Enterprise guy sprung it on me when he showed up. Plus they tried to sell me an optional insurance for 18 bux a day, which I refused since my current insurance covers rental vehicles.

Those jerks will do anything to squeeze a buck out of ya!!

I have noticed a general calming of the convertible rants, except for a couple people that seem to take any opportunity to take a shot at the convertibles, it seems more and more are getting their issues taken care of either through replacement cars or repairs of their existing one. I hope this trend continues.

I am just glad to see all the noise I made last year and this winter along with several others on here paying off. We stuck our asses on the line for those just coming into the Camaro brotherhood. Hopefully it has and will continue to pay off.
