Does anyone have a link or photo of the ZL on a lift to see the suspension driveline
I want to see if GM changed things under this ZL and all the 2012 cars in regards to bushing size, control arms, etc.
Does anyone have a photo or link that shows this? |

I believe on one of the videos there was shots of the undercarraige and they discuss some of the upgrades for the ZL1. Go to the photo and video compilation thread and I think it is the 24 hour testing video.

Only thing you can see on the underside is the under belly cover.

TMK, those who've had access to the cars on a hoist are NOT to speak/photograph...yet...

There are only glimpses of the rear, like the differential sump and cooling lines, and bits of the exhaust here and there. You just have to watch the videos GM's made and try to get them from those.

i figured they had these test mules all over at events in the USA i wondered if anyone crawled under and snapped some photos.
i really need to see whats done under this car to see if GM corrected a pretty major design flaw from the first few model years of the 5th gen. |

Why not just ask your question about the design flaw and see if you can get an answer from anybody? Can't hurt?

2. Look at the number of low mile cars modified on the market, wonder why? I spoke to well over 80 owners and they all said that's why they were selling. 3. Most owners will never experience this issue or drive well beyond 100+ its a bad driveline vibration from the negative angles of the diff and axles. when you mod the cars or lower them it becomes worse, stiffer bushings also make it worse as do larger tires. Axles seem to break Outer CV even aftermarket ones, driveshaft couplers wear and break and even suspension bolts over time become loose. every race car has this issue. GM really messed up and I want to see what and how they mad the ZL1 into what it is. GM knows of this problem since I have spoken to engineers since 2009 and said they planned to fix for the 2012+ models. So once i get a chance to see a ZL1 in person I will immediately know what they changed. |

Now this way, people will see he was in fact looking for answers to a real problem. (It happens a lot with the valve issue in the Zo6 forums, a guy comes across to harsh, and no one replies with any helpful answers) |

This is PRECISELY why Holden and G8 suspension guys suggested the maximum lowering of this vehicle be kept to 12-15mm...or roughly 1/2".
Who listened? |

I know that they moved the rear swaybar connection outward, the rear cradle bushings are stiffer and the lower rear control arms are beefed up. I have the rear craddle bushings and swaybars on my car and don't have any vibration.

I wonder why mine didn't ever have this problem. I have stock - diff updraded gears, driveshaft, all stock bushings, aftermarket axles and it was even lowered for a bit. I have made hundreds of passes down the track at 130-145 with quite a few very hard launches and plenty with over 1000 rwhp. All stock gear underneath except shocks and a chassis brace. I even drive it over 100 all the time on the highway no problems. I have a radar laser jamming system too.

exactly if GM even raised the subframe up an inch or 2 these issues would never occur its the way the trunk floor is laid out and the provisons for a fold down seat and trunk space limited what they could do with the parts bin G8 subframe.
