Heres My Plan. Let me know what you guys think
Ok, i just graduated highschool and have been saving for this car since the day they announced a new camaro and then transformers came out which really modivated me to save more money. I am new to this website, actually i never had an account but i have always been looking around and getting as much info as i can. Now that i am serious about buying a new Camaro i decided to start asking more questions and getting as much info as i can before i order it. I plan on ordering my Camaro this Christmas 2009. Its going to be my gift to myself, and probably for the next few christmas' as well. But i plan on getting a Rally Yellow 1SS with a sunroof and a painted engine cover. I will also be getting black bumble bee stripes from the guys at Ridergraphix and upgrading the exhaust for sure. Let me know what you guys think. Its really exciting to be part of this website and im really enjoying your guys cars as well.

I think you can get it done. There's going to be a lot of cost going into this at your age. I'm not saying it's impossible nor am I saying "don't do it." Hey, more power to you!
Look into insurance for the 1SS. See what it's going to run you. Also, who is going to sign the paperwork. Will you have a co-signer. You will probably have to have mom or dad buy the car, put it in their name, and have you make payments. That is, unless you have the cash to put down. How much do you have to put down? Further, look into financing. The best rate out there right now is 3.8 from Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union. You need to look them up on the web, see if you qualify, and get yourself and account and loan. You can do it. It's going to take cash, is all. What will make this work is how much you have to put down, what you will be financing, what the monthly payments will be, and if you will have a good paying job that will allow you to make those payments for the next 5 years or so. Again, you can do it! And, I REALLY hope that you are able!!! Welcome to the site and glad to see you joined!! |

Congrats man I think you are going about it the right way, and I agree with Tag you'll have to have your parents co-sign and prolly would be best to piggyback on their insurance or yours will be super high.

I think it's awesome that you are saving for this car, like I pressume most have been. Being young I would like to give you a challenge just to ensure that this goal of yours can be accomplished.
First figure out how much the car will cost with tax license etc... then deduct your down payment. Next go talk with some banks in your area and find out what a elative payment would be , for the sake of this let's say 475.00 a month,( which will require a large down payment) add in insurance say 100.00 a month plus one tank a gas a week say 60.00. Then for the next 6 months put 635.00 into a savings account. If for any reason you have to pull any of the money out then you can not afford this car and may have to wait to either put more money down, get a better job or simply wait till you can afford it. While this may not be the popular thing, it is the best things to do and a valuable lesson for any purchase you are thinking of making. Of course you will have to also consider cellphone payments, date money etc... IMO I would rather see you wait a little and get what you want and be able to afford it and able to enjoy it, rather than having to work just to make a car payment, not smart. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and I think you will make a good decision. Thanks |
