Stage I. What am I missing?

Hello everyone,

Getting ready for the first round of mods. Was wondering if I can get your input on them? Looking to do these mods within next month or so.

So far what is on the list is:

Cold Air intake "Not ordered yet"

TPIS 102mm TB "Done"

HX "not ordered yet, don't know which brand to go with"

ARH LT's "Debating whether or not to get them at this stage"

ID850 injectors "done"

Ported snout with 2.55" "Done"

Full ported blower and blower runners "done.. I had an extra 1.9 blower"

What else am I missing?? What do you guys think of this combo? I don't want to run a lower pulley just yet. I want to keep it nice and simple for this stage.

Thank you,

Kareem-

That sounds about right for stage one.. maybe a little more because of the fully ported blower lol. Only thing I can think of is a ported 87mm or 90mm throttle body.

I would definitely get longtubes for this stage. I believe Pfadt Tri-Y headers make the most power for the ZL1 on a dyno. I have 2" Stainless Works longtubes and love them.

I am thinking of cat delete for now. Any dyno charts or proved gains in terms of the different options we have? How is the fitment on your stainless steel??

Thanks

cat delete is going to be required if you want to really turn up the boost as your cats factory or aftermarket will eventually melt out. There is a company working on a mythical converter that can withstand the super high egt's without damage but I have not seen them come to market yet. I went with stainless works zl1 2" headers and had them coated as well as the cat delete pipes, and they look very nice in construction.

thanks
anthony

youll have so much trouble with the cops if you do a cat delete cause the exhaust note will get stupendously loud at idle (at least for the cops it will be loud)

OFFICER: "sir your car is too loud, could hear you 2 blocks away"
ZL1 with cat delete: "Its all stock, cant help it if its just a badass"

Noise does not bother me but your right about the noise level being much louder.

Do you have any sound clips what so every?? I'm looking into this but it has to be with cats and I cannot have it too noisy.... Cops here at any smell of a loud car or some what modded will stop you and TOW your car on the spot. . How much louder is your car now?

Yea man, when I was in the u.s I ran my V with straight headers and no exhaust for a while lol. I love the loud sound but with the amount of cars being towed here, it would be very risky to do the headers cat delete setup. What would you suggest in term of sound reduction? How can I go about this??

If you can not have much increase over stock sound levels, you would either need to have the exhaust flaps setup so you could force the muffler closed to quiet it down, or not do long tubes. Even with cats your car will get a healthy increase in DB levels when installing long tubes.

As far as sound clips, none yet, still waiting on a couple things to finish installing all my parts. But I have compared my car next to one with a similar setup to what I got and it is LOUD compared to stock.

Talk to 510, they do a lot of high HP Zl builds and really have it dialed!
