Black SSX or Polished ZL1 Wheels?
I would like to get everyones opinion about the standard Black SSX wheels or the optional Polished ZL1 wheels. I am still not sure which way to go and getting ideas from you all might help. The black wheels definitely make it look more racy and the polished wheels a totally different look, but I would like to hear some of your opinions and why you would pick SSX or Polished. Thanks!

I'm also undecided, but it all depends on body color. White is my 1st paint choice so it would be the polished wheels. Competition Gray wheels would be a nice option. Then again if they do offer some different stripe colors? Black wheels do seem to be the current trend and nice, but getting old to me.

Depends of the color of the car. The two colors should be in reverse to give a nice contrast. Since there are a lot of black in ZL1 used already, personally I'd go with While or Yellow or Red. And for these three body colors, I'd choose black wheels.
I've had them both, and for aggressive cars, I'd would only go with black wheels. |

I'd go with the SSX wheels. But maybe in a gunmetal or even black chrome depending on the body color and if I'm not going to track the car

I find it hard to believe the SSX wheels aren’t lighter even if they have said they weigh the same, but that is my opinion. It has been said the SSX wheels will be standard and the other will be an option ($$$). It has also been speculated that the SSX wheels will come in different finishes, so there is a lot up in the air.
Given the two options – SSX black or polished I’d probably pick the SSX even if I’m not a huge fan of black wheels. I think it will look good with IOM and I like the looks a bit better. I’m hoping they offer them in another finish in which case I’d have more thinking to do. A machined / painted finish would be nice – something with contrast. The only way I’d not go with the SSX wheels is if they are the optional wheel and cost $5,000 or if the weights are released and they weigh more. |

Just not into black wheels. I would prefer a machined satin finish SSX wheel, but if that is not offered, I will be going with the optional polished wheels.

Hmm well started off wanting the SSX rims, when I first saw them being offered. But after seeing the rims close up at the Frederick show, my opinion changed. I just think over time I would be happier with the polish wheels. To much black around the tires with the SSX rims, and the polish rims (when clean) just give the car that classic look for me.
But if the polish rims get to be real pricey, I could change my mind. Also I kinda want to have a little differant look from the average ZL1, and figure that thier will be alot more of the ZL1's having the SSX rims on them. Hope that helps some.

For me, I'd put the black wheels on the black or yellow car. Other than that, I'd go with the polished wheels.
One thing that I always liked was the white wheels on the Trans Am in 1984. That would look awesome on a white ZL1 camaro - SSX wheels in white that is.

Now of course we have Red rims with chrome lips, and blue rims with chrome lips... and other colors of course. Not a hater, but I think Im just old fashioned in liking the polished or chromed look on a dark car. If I had a white car I might think differently as the contrast is cool. again, MHO.

I'll be going for the SSX wheels in black BUT, if available, I'd much prefer them in comp gray.
In my opinion an all-out, take no prisoners car such as the ZL1 should have an "all business" look to it.....the design and subdued color (in black or gray) of the SSX wheels fit the bill perfectly. Polished wheels are a bit too "flashy" in my opinion would look entirely out of place on the ZL1.
