Sorry guys and girls, but…
…please don't get me wrong, it's wonderful that people are still passionate about cars. And Camaro owners are some of the most passionate out there. But when I review a vehicle, it's from an objective standpoint, despite the amount of flowery language I'll use.
As such, Motor Trend came to many of the conclusions that I did. Including the Mazda Miata being rated a better sports car. I'll be testing a Camaro SS soon, after having driven one briefly two weeks ago at the GM proving grounds. Don't worry, I won't mention headroom or trunk space ever again. Cheers, M! |

Well I come back to the fact that you did not attempt to adjust the seat before making your headroom statement. With respect to your trunk space comment, what did you put in the trunk to test it's space? Have you tried to put two hockey bags in it? I have so I don't know how you could have made your comments and expect to be taken seriously.
That's really the issue regarding your desire to be accepted as a legitimate car reviewer - you made statements about the Camaro which can be proven untrue. Regarding the Miata - smarten up! Putting both vehicles in the same market segment is only more proof of your incompetence in car reviewing.

Still found it a completely useless review.

The guy reviews cars and he published his review. Accordingly, his work should be open for criticism.

You are entitled to your opinion and I mine. That's what makes the world go 'round. I absolutely love my Camaro and I'm not a Camaro apologist, I just plain like the car.

Wannabees and Naysayers. I guess the ol' adage applies. You can't please everyone all the time. The Camaro has been the best thing to happen to America in a long time. Enough of the Miata's, Camry's et al. Haven't seen this much excitement in a car in a long time. Let him write his "little" reports and reviews. I respect the fact it's his job, someones got to do it or all we'd see is the reports on how wonderful the 2010 Camaro is.

I'm not saying you cannot criticize him. I am saying to do it in a adult-like, respectable manner!

Obviously we'd like it to be respectful criticism.... But criticism none the less.

Nah, this doesn't bother me one bit. Come on, Laguna Seca?!!? Of course the heavier cars will do badly on this course. The track is perfect for M3, 911, Miata and similar cars and motorcyles. Nonetheless, how many Camaro or Mustang or Challenger buyers actually buy these cars with the intent of circling a track like Laguna Seca, Willow Springs, et al. in their stock suspension set up? Opinions on appearance and driver comfort are all relative/subjective to each individual.
But they/you got one thing absolutely correct, the Camaro SS is a boulevard brute and that is partly the main reason why I bought mine, a pretty nice canvas to draw more HP on if so desired IMO. The awesome exterior appearance is just a bonus. Thank you very much, Mustang man. |
