BASE V8

So I remember fbodfather telling us a while back that the BASe v8 would have over 400 hp... Now that we have final(mostly) information there is really only one v8 (yes I know L99, LS3, same engine anyways).

Was he talking about the BASe being the L99, and the other one being the LS3 or was he talking about the L99/LS3 being the base and something else coming later? ("Forget everything you know about engines")

as of right now if anything is in the works they aren't confirming it or denying it. it's all in how you want to read into it. personally I hope he meant the l99/ls3 were the base v-8's but they said two v8 engine options as well. and welp that's 2 engine options. but you can only have either or depending on what tranny you get. so who knows.

When he said that originally; I don't think the LS3 was out, and the l99 definitely wasn't out.

I do believe THAT's what he was talking about; as lots of people were certain it was the L76 (because that's "the only car V8 with AFM"...). But the phrase was kept alive beyond the LS3's introduction, so the engine was promptly dismissed...little bit of a mistake, huh?
