Hey IRPQ11 - can you confirm your Dynolicious app settings - are you rolling with defaults in all cases (other than your vehicle specifics of course)? I just bought the app, after reading this thread.

Also, to confirm what I've read and/or what I'm seeing in your video...

...you have the L99, stock with no engine mods?
...you held the Traction Control button for 7 seconds (whatever) to disengage all the control goodies?
...you have the tranny in D?
...you held your foot on the brake at idle and revved the engine to about 1500rpm before flooring the peddle and letting your foot off the brake, with the gas peddle pegged to the floor? We used to call these "break stands" because they were bad, bad, bad back in the day. No longer the case these days?

Thank you for indulging my questions, sir.

Also, for those looking at mounting alternatives, I have one of these for my iPhone... it works great for holding it securely in either cupholder.... and, according to the Dynolicious user manual, will hold the iPhone in a perfect position for using the app... while keeping it out of the way and line of sight. iSqueez (I had to dig around the Internet but was able to find one without issue).

Sorry so long getting back.

YES to all except I didn't have it in 'D' but 'M' when I did the runs.
Default settings with the iPhone app.

Had a family function on the beach the 4th and 5th. Planned on getting some runs in on the 6th but RAIN RAIN RAIN. I'll have to wait. It's supposed to rain for the forseeable future here.

I wonder how accurate a timed run on a wet road with TC on would be.

Ok. At 8:00 am, tomorrow morning, my car will be sitting on a Dyno. The guy was very cool about my schedule and will come in at 8 to get me in and out.

Now. Question. How do I know the Dynometer is accurate or even close? How do I know these guys even know what they're doing? Can't GM or my dealer just tell me the Dyno is inaccurate?

I can tell you this. I had to go over there and find this guy. Not too far but Bonnie was ready to KILL me when I got back. With clients calling to check on orders and our suppliers calling, plus clients waiting in the lobby. On top of her trying to do her work with a client in the seat. After this, I don't want to have to do this again because dealer won't accept it.

No worries, thanks for the reply. I tried 'M" over 'D" today and had a much better time, without using the TapShift as well.

I didn't try the brake stand though... I guess too many old school memories of things gone bad with brake stands. Is the technology in the Camaro's such that brake stands are no longer an issue? I'm having some trouble confirming this... or at least seeing/reading the same answer twice.

Well brake stands arent exactly great for your car.. but I used to brake stand the living shit out of my 95 z28 and never had a problem. Don't over-do it and you should be fine.

I have a client who drag races. He said it's not worth it anymore and can actually cause slower times.

A line lock is a device that allows you to lock the front brakes independently of the rear brakes via a switch

A line-lock allows the driver to set the brakes on just one set of tires. Usually, racers put a line-lock on the front tires in order to aid their burnouts. They set the brake, hold a button, and then release the brake pedal. The brakes will release on the back, but hold the front brakes until the button is released. Some people try to simulate a transbrake by having four-wheel line-locks. This allows the driver to hold the brakes with the button on the line, instead of his foot.
