New Cylinder HEad: Engine Coolant Air Bleed Plug

When installing new cylinder heads it is recommended you install new engine coolant air bleed plugs into the rear coolant passage of the cylinder heads. Has anyone done this or have experience? I'm looking for a good thread or maybe some sort of write-up. Also if someone is willing to point me in the right direction for buying the parts that would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Is it even necessary to install new ones when replacing the heads? Can you just swap the plugs from the stock heads into your new heads? Thanks

You ever seen the stock ones? I wouldn't even know how to get them out. I had to drill them on the ls7 heads I used on my car.

I don't think you are talking about the same thing we are. You just take a 10mm socket (or wrench), remove the four bolts holding the two rear plugs/front cross over and reinstall on your new motor.

I'm saying my heads didn't have the block offs bolted in. There were actual plugs pushed down into the heads. That I had to drill out.
