Timing bushings

I know it is a smart idea to get your suspension alignment done early.. I hear some suppliers mention timing your bushings. I tried searching, but didn't see what the purpose was.. what are the benefits?

I am trying to find a shop that does alignment and bushings in one pop... hopefully not break the bank.

Unless you have installed new drop coils or coilovers, you do not ever have to time the bushings doing an alignment

No problem. When the vehicle is on the alignment rack with the tires on the ground, they should loosen the front and rear control arm bushings, jounce the car as much as they can, then retighten, It is a really easy thing to do,

Best of luck

No...you shouldn't have to. As long as you don't change the ride height you shouldn't need to time the bushings.

Nope...I struggle with the seach sometimes. I just knew there was one fairly recent and found it pretty quick.

BTW: at least in this area it would probably cost $125 - $150 to time the bushings and get a good alignment. You can time your own bushings if you can't find someone that knows how to do it however it will be a lot easier to do it at one stop.

Here is a link to our recommendations for re-clocking (timing) the bushings:

As long as the bolts are tightened with the weight on the suspension you will be fine. Lowering is the only reason you need to re-clock bushings but for the same reasons you should never tighten suspension bolts with the wheels hanging...
