Read all the dozens of threads, lots of feedback. Thats how I got the Injen.
I installed K&N 63 series twice and had a cell that I could get rid of. Installed it on a friend car and did'nt have any problems. I think there are differences between early editions like mine and later ones. IMO not the best choice.

Personally i do not like the way the short ram are for this car. I hate the box to cover them. CAI has the box to protect and keep the air going into the engine cooler. Without no box you would take the hot air from the engine bay and that wouldnt help much... injen long tube goes down to the bumper, right behind the driver side fog light. So it gets fresh cool air from the front of the car. That is my reason for going injen also at the time i gpt it it was the most hp producer over all other intake systems (vararam wasnt out).

That's one of the things that I'm curious about. I heard that short ram intakes in general tends to drop in efficiency the longer it's continuously used as the engine bay temps goes up. How do these other short rams compare in this regard? I know that CAI tries to combat this with the use of an insulated box and coatings... How does Vararam fare I wonder...

The CAI. Inc. cai. praformed best in both of the Janetty cai. shoot out tests. The second round test CAI. Inc. used a ADM. race scoop with even better results. The Vararam cai. did not partisapate in either tests though invited. So I would go with CAI. Inc. imo.

Here is the link to the thread with pics of when I added my scoop & washer bottler relocation (along with a couple of other goodies - Black Iceolator & ported throttlebody & painted my manifold). The hardest part was taking the nose off & putting it back on. Other folks have done it by taking the whels off instead of the nose. Making the cut on the plastic piece where the scoop goes was anxiety inducing as I had never done anything like that but I had a friend/mechanic help & she did it with no problem (thanks again Karen!). I can't comment personally and specificly on the difference the scoop made alone as I added other things at the same time but I am very happy with my CAI inc & can tell the scoop improved it's performance.

I have a Roto-Fab intake that has a box that seals to the top of the hood. Even after hard running, when I pop the hood, the filter is still cool to the touch, so I would say that they typically work very well.
