What kind of undercarriage detailer do you recommend?

Ive been using Chemical Guys Bare Bones but it doesnt seem to work very well and I had been using Griot's undercarriage detailer but I ran out and tried this Chemical Guys brand but Im gonna switch.

Is there any better than Griot's and with a decent price?
I buy it buy the gallon.

I've never understood the need for this product. I keep mine perfectly clean and they look nice and black just as they should.

I keep mine clean as well but a good detail spray just enhances how much better everything can look in the wheelwells and underneath the car but the Chemical Guys brand seems too sticky or something, not sure what it is I dont like about it...

To each their own.

Ive also been looking into buying a undercarriage spray cleaner that attaches to your high pressure washer. Ive seen them for about $50.

For the inner fenders I use Simple Green and a brush, also on the tires. Always looks clean.

I always wash the fender wells and underneath my Camaro but undercarriage spray really sets it off...

Cleaning the wheel well liners when you wash the car will usually keep them looking nice like Matt said. If you want them a little darker without the stickiness, Aerospace 303 Protectant is a good trim detailer to use. I wouldn't use something too high end like UTTG or DLux on something like wheel well liners. You'd just be throwing money down the drain since you're spending a lot of time detailing an area that can be ruined instantly by driving through a puddle.

As for the UNDERCARRIAGE (i.e. suspension components, floorpans, exhaust pipes, tranny, etc.)... I wish I can get down there more often, lol.

The biggest need for a dedicated dressing (IMO) is usually with larger trucks and SUV's where there is sizeable wheel gap. Even on my last truck with the liners added to the rear when it was clean it still looked chalky and it was exposed.

The problem is there isn't one on the market that isn't some variation of the same thing - Silicone, solvent, and a dark colored dye. They stain anything they touch and can be messy, not to mention due to the solvent content highly flamable! Found out the hard way when some contacted a hot header on a car I was detailing once.

I've gone to just using Exterior Trim Conditioner diluted 2:1 or 3:1 for this type of need. Its far more cost effective, doesn't coat your undercarriage in silicone, water based and won't make a mess. Still leaves wheel wells dark, but not greasy. Plus... extremely cost effective as compared to other options.
