ZL1 with 500 miles leaking coolant externally

Looks to be from a pipe that goes in or out of the oil cooler. Can see it with a mirror but can't get a picture. Pissing coolant on my garage floor as I type this (into a container).

Anyone else had this problem?

Not haven't heard of anyone else having an issue either. Be happy its pissing straight down, just found out where my truck is leaking from today and it's pissing all over. Good luck with the dealer ship, how it's not as involved as shown in the Corvette forum.

I think I saw a member or 2 on here with this issue. in fact I know for sure I saw at least 1 person with the cross threaded bolt but I think it was on the oil cooler. trying to find the thread

Hoping that's the case. I searched but I couldn't find anything.

There is a TSB on this issue. Some cars got the mounting bolt for the oil cooler cross-threaded. Must have been someone having a bad day on the assembly line. Take it to the dealer. They'll fix it.

Summary: Chevrolet: upon inspecting vehicles at dealer, coolant leakage is noticed coming from oil cooler fitting threads that screws into left side of engine block, due to fitting being cross threaded.

That is one major leak!!

My ZL1 had this just not anywhere as bad. Mine never dropped any coolant but you could smell the leak. The dealer found it during an oil change. Dealer replaced the cross thread parts and it was all good. Fairly common issue on all LSx cars including ours. You would think with the long run of C6 Corvettes and C5 Camaros they would have this sorted out but they have not.

Dealer should get it fixed up quickly. Mine was about 4 days most was them waiting for parts.

All fixed, threads were salvageable and hopefully it doesn't blow out again because I will be taking it to the track at some point.

Mine has been seeping since I got the car. Worse in winter. I finally tightened the bolt while changing the oil. Didn't seem to be cross threaded, just loose.

I had the same thing when brand new. Dealer ordered the tap kit and was prepared to tap, but when we got to the line it was just lose. 7k never a problem. But I could not believe after reading the TSB that the problem goes back to 2010. Either a bum robot or a guy that should retire.
