Looking to possibly Trade my 1LE for a 2SS

Hi -

I'm the owner of a 2013 2SS RS 1LE Camaro, 6 speed, fully loaded, leather, Sat nag, Factory-everything, no mods, and I am looking to either trade it for a 2SS RS Automatic, or perhaps just modify the car.

Why?

As much as I love it on the highway, most of my driving is city, and here in Montreal, the ride is just too harsh. The tight suspension and low profile tires deliver more road bumps than I care to have. The super fat tires are super sticky in hot weather as they should be, but are rock-hard in cool weather which makes driving the 1LE in early spring and late fall less than fun.

My 1LE has only about 2800 kilometres on it. It is stored in a warm garage for the winter and plan to take it out only after mid April.

The 1LE is a Camaro lovers dream car and I love it, but the driving style it was designed for is just not for me. I prefer the more comfortable 2SS RS feel to the 1LE.

The car is silver (SIM) with black wheels and black hood wrap. If I don't sell or trade it, I would also consider swapping the wheels & tires, and removing the wrap and replacing it with black or CGM stripes.

Any takers or suggestions? Post here to discuss.

Sell the 20s for a set of 18s with a nice thick tire.

X2

When I put on my taller Winter tires on for the snow my ride is definitely softer but you do lose some cornering.

Yeah you more than likely are better off getting another set of rims and tires unless you really want an auto. Maybe put a bottom line number of what you want for your car too so folks have an idea of what your looking for if they don't have a trade. Good luck!

They didnt build many silver 1LE's in 13. Shouldnt have a problem getting rid of it if you decide to.

Midway down nine ball posts the orange camaro. 18s and the perfect tire look great on these cars. I've almost contemplated going 18s because of a few pics people have posted with the forgestars

Looking to possibly Trade my 1LE for a 2SS

If it were me I would Keep the original wheels and tires to preserve the value of your 1LE.
There will be dozens of posts trying to talk you out of them.

You can get $2500 for the wheels and tires easy. Make sure to drive the ss because it ain't a whole lot better.

If I were you I would talk with some knowledgable folks about what mods can quickly and cheaply change ride. It would be easier to trade ss springs for 1le springs than car for car.

Now, I have a feeling it's more of a regret you bought an manual vs auto that is really causing the issues.

Changing the ride quality is easy and cheap because most are wanting to get your parts rather than vice versa so trades will be quick and in you favor. Changing trannies isn't as simple

The 1LE uses off the shelf SS springs.

The only thing that will noticeably improve the ride is a change to a lighter wheel and taller sidewall tire or get a different car.

Being a Canadian this is going to hurt financially. The reason i know i did this after owning my 2010 less then 2 years. Depreciation and the 13% in tax's you lose right off the top. You can make the ride less harsh but wanting an automatic that will be expensive to fix. Going upside down on a loan would be a option i would consider last. There is no doubt in my mind you will find a member in your area who will do a even swap who has an automatic. That would be the direction i would consider before trading in. The 1LE is highly sought after and quite rare in these parts you have that going for you. Best of luck to whatever you do.

Substantially the same unless you are going for a world record. I have seen a few threads that detail rpms for the three models including autos
